The event united regulators, researchers, and industry leaders to advance the <strong>safe, ethical, and equitable use of artificial intelligence (AI)<\/strong> in health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, emphasized that as AI grows more sophisticated, <strong>global efforts must ensure its safety, effectiveness, and fairness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the theme <strong>\u201cRegulation for AI, Together for Tomorrow,\u201d<\/strong> the symposium showcased leading regulatory frameworks and best practices across the <strong>medical product lifecycle<\/strong>\u2014from research and clinical trials to post-market monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>AIRIS 2025 Outcome Statement<\/strong> called for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>lifecycle-based regulatory approach<\/strong> for AI in health products<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Risk-based frameworks<\/strong> tailored to each country\u2019s health system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stronger global collaboration<\/strong> to build trust and close regulatory gaps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Continued global dialogue<\/strong> through AIRIS as a recurring platform<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By promoting <strong>transparency, accountability, and equitable access<\/strong>, AIRIS 2025 reaffirmed WHO and MFDS\u2019s commitment to <strong>sustained collaboration<\/strong> for responsible AI in health \u2014 ensuring that technological innovation serves everyone safely and fairly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Date: October 24, 2025Source: World Health Organization (WHO)Category: Global Health &amp; TechnologyReading time: 1 min Building on the momentum from Seoul in 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea co-hosted AIRIS 2025 in Incheon.
